Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup water or breastmilk/formula
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin purée (unsweetened)
  • 1 tiny pinch cinnamon

  1. Simmer oats with water in a small pot, stirring, until thick and creamy (~5 min)
  2. Off the heat, stir in pumpkin purée and cinnamon
  3. Blend smooth if your baby is still on purées
  4. Cool to lukewarm and serve with a small spoon
⚠️ Serving it safely

Use pure pumpkin purée — NOT pumpkin pie filling (added sugar + spices). No honey under 12mo. Cut and serve to suit your child's age and eating skills, and always supervise eating.

Tips

  • Make a bigger batch and refrigerate up to 2 days
  • A pinch of cinnamon helps introduce gentle flavour without sugar

Easy swaps

  • Use sweet potato purée instead of pumpkin
  • Add 1 tsp of plain yogurt for older babies
